There are many experiences that I feel adequately qualify me for a broad spectrum of childcare opportunities. My most recent experience was teaching a kindergarten class full-time at the American Christian Academy, a K-12 school in Ibadan, Nigeria. For my husband and I, this was essentially a mission that we felt called to do. Previous to being a kindergarten teacher there I was a first grade teacher as well as a full-time teacher of a nursery class for children ages 3-4. I also volunteered at a home for motherless babies where I gained valuable experience working with multiple infants and taught a Sunday school class. Previous to my time in Nigeria, I spent a year doing a program called Master’s Commission in England which focused on children’s work. I had the opportunity here not only to learn about working with children and young people in a classroom but also to Read more be involved and take leadership roles in multiple youth groups, school assemblies, church services, a café for school-aged children, Sunday school, Sunbeams Preschool, and more. I am a nanny for 2 boys ages 7 and 5. This gives me a lot of experience in watching children in their home environment. I love cooking and don’t mind cleaning at all and have plenty of experience with both. I gave birth to my frist child on December 19th, 2007. She is beuatiful and being a mom has been amazing so far.
