I'm a 21 year old former nursing student at Boston College. I have completed 3 years but am taking some time off from school for atleast a year. I have my own car and an accident free driving record. I have experience with every age between 4 months and 15 years old. I've tutored basic math, science, and english, but am very comfortable with more advanced math (through calculus), and biology and chemistry. I have tutored and sat for kids with ADHD. I am CPR certified, I know the Heimlich maneuver, and I basic first aid. 2 years ago I volunteered twice a week taking care of children (newborns - 4 years old) living at an abused women's shelter. I have 2 cats and a labrador at home and love taking care of all animals or plants. I did the majority of my babysitting during highschool. Since then I've worked in an Read more office, The Container Store (so I can help with any organizational problems around the house), and i've spent the last 6 months working at a restaurant in Newton. It has been a few years since I've done any regular babysitting, so unfortunately I don't have any current babysitting references. The majority of the families that I used to work for have moved or I no longer have contact information for them. I am more than willing to offer personal references. I can provide references upon request but they are from families I sat for several years ago in higschool. Although I haven't babysat for a long time I have studied child development and behavior, and do try to spend as much time as I can with children. I've found that being at school was hard because I miss spending time with kids. As I said before I was a nursing major and I planned to go into pediatrics or labor and delivery. I think of myself as a sort of kid at heart; I enjoy games and playing sports outside, which is why I've decided to start babysitting again.
