Hi! I am a want-to-be stay-at-home mom who is looking to open up my home to one or two toddlers or preschoolers looking for excellent, loving care while their mommies and daddies are at work. I have a 2 year old and 4 month old daughter who are the light of my life. I am an elementary teacher and have realized that I love being at home caring for my daughters. After having so many daycare experiences with my own child, I now know the importance of finding good daycare and how difficult that can be. I am looking to help out other moms in a similar experience that need to go back to work and don't want to spend their day wondering if their child is safe and getting the attention they deserve. This will also be a great way to have the at-home experience while still allowing my Read more daughters to gain social skills with others in her age group. In the past I have worked at a daycare center, been a nanny and of course have the valuable experience of being a mom. We have a finished basement that we've turned it into a child-safe home daycare. We will do activities throughout the day that will include singing, reading books, painting,alphabet/phonic practice, working on large and fine motor skills and getting outside when possible (we have a fenced in backyard). Each child (up to 2) will have their own sleeping area and will follow the sleeping, eating schedule that mom and dad would like. I will keep a daily log for each child. I will have an open door policy for mom and dad and welcome visits at any time. I cook from scratch and do mostly organic. So, your child would be welcomed to also share in these meals or you can bring in your own food. I am willing to do cloth or disposable diapers.
