My husband, who I consider an animal whisperer, has a long family tradition of dog training and breeding in his family. I paid my way through NEU by babysitting and pet care. We are both former teachers and pet owners of 3 cats who one day realized that - sadly - pet care is more rewarding field. We both started with taking dogs on 1 hour hikes in the woods until one of our dogs returned from a boarding facility all depressed after only 3 days. ……. Our pet owners trust us with their pets and homes every time they travel; if it’s only for a weekend or for few weeks at the time. The dogs we board get just as excited on the way to our house as they do when we’re dropping them off at their own. They become temporary members of our family, hanging out with us on a couch or – if possible –outdoors. When we house sit, we maintain our pets’ routines and provide the owners with additional house management services during their absence. Because we take on only one or two clients’ at the time, we can pay individual attention to each animal and besides feeding and “taking care of business” provide the exercise and social interaction it needs. My husband also trains disobedient and unsocial dogs with a great success. We live in Westwood and cover but are not limited to these areas: Needham/Newton/Wellesley/Dover/Dedham/Walpole/Norwood. All pickups and drop-offs are included in our prices and all our clients will gladly provide excellent references.
