I love kids and enjoy teaching them new things. Watching how they absorb information, process and apply concepts amazes me. I started taking education classes in college when a family emergency brought me home to NJ for a semester. Due to scheduling conflicts and my interest in communication studies, upon my return to college I took a few communication classes and was hooked. I graduated from Northeastern University (Boston, MA) with a degree in Organizational and Media Communications. Coming from large family with many cousins, most older than I me, I’ve been changing diapers since I was 10 years old. I would babysit for families in town in Jr. High and High School and then a part-time nanny while in college. Since then, helping out friends and family as needed. In an effort to pay off student loans sooner than later, I once again have come back to babysitting for some extra cash and playtime.

Hi, my name is Shanae I'm a college student that's currently studying child psychology & early childhood. I have been a nanny/ babysitter for 3years so far I really enjoyed working with kids. I have been a caregiver for ages 2months -16 yrs old. I'm not a person to put your child in front of a tv. I'm more a hands on & outside type of person. I enjoy outside activities such as walks in the park, the zoo, gardens, museums, camping, swimming and more. I also enjoy doing arts & craft , reading, acting a play, puzzles and painting.

Paula G.

Hello, my name is Paula, I'm a 28-year-old college graduate from Seton Hall University. I graduated with a B.A. In social and behavioral sciences with a concentration in social work and a multidisciplinary certificate in gerontology. I have been babysitting children of all ages for the past 10 years. I'm extremely caring and nurturing when it comes to others. I absolutely love children; I've taught art classes to elementary school children and have also done a lot of volunteering with kids of all ages through the youth group in Westfield as well as abroad. I've babysat in Westfield, Mountainside, Summit, and Holmdel within the past 7 years and have done things such as: cooking, helping with homework, trips to the library, parks, community pools, etc. I have a niece (8) and nephew (10) that are a HUGE part of my life and have helped take care of them since the second they were born. I was also a full time nanny in Westfield for 3 years for two little girls, a 1 year old and a 3 year old. I was with them from 9-4:30pm everyday and would play with them outside, take them to the park, and other fun/crafty activities. I genuinely enjoyed taking part in their development whether it was by making sure they said their "please and thank you's" or by involving education in a fun and playful way in our everyday routine. I absolutely loved them and would have stayed working with this amazing family longer but I decided to attend cosmetology school in NYC. (I was lucky enough to have my sister take over this position while she was working toward receiving her masters degree - she's currently a special education teacher in Westfield.) I'm currently looking for a full time babysitting position, Monday through Friday but I'm open to working out a schedule that fits best with your family. If you feel like this might be what you're looking for, please don't hesitate to contact me. I would love to further discuss the many other qualities and experiences that I have!
