Hi, thanks for looking at my profile. I hope you find it informative. I live in Takoma Park with my husband and pets. I'm a US citizen but have been fortunate enough to travel and live in other countries. I'm respectful & understanding of other cultures and ways of life. I specialize in occasional established sitting, my schedule is open and flexible. I'm good at last-minute sittings as my schedule allows. Be assured, I have great references from parents and are comfortable with children from all ages -from newborns to teens - and have experience with children with mental/physical disabilities. I have a MA in Cultural Geography and am fluent in 3 languages. I love to travel, read, and meet people. I form life-long friendship relationships with "my" parents and their kids, being a sitter is very rewarding and I love doing it. My qualities include: I am honest, respectful, Read more a quick thinker, and dependable. I do not smoke, I do love tea -chai- and enjoy crafts and baking. I'm a hands-on type of sitter. If I build a race course in your basement, you bet I will run in it. I'm great at following house rules and love all animals. In terms of house chores, I can do basic cooking for the kids (or order some takeout!) and I always clean after the children but I don't do general housekeeping (family's laundry, house cleaning, etc.) because my time and attention are focused on your kids only. At this point I cannot commit to a full time schedule. As I said occasional sitting is what I specialize in but I am open to work on a short-term part time basis for the right family. My ideal family is open and honest with me regarding the house rules and their children behavior and likes/dislikes. "My" long-term parents consider me part of the family and respect me as an individual and as a professional. They do not nickle-and-dime me and are fair with my pay and always keep the hours we agreed upon. I own a mini-van and mileage is not included in my hourly wage but this being DC, I have absolutely no problem taking public transportation. Actually, my husband and I are committed to decreasing our environmental footprint so public transportation is definitely not a issue. Feel free to read my reviews on this site and I can provide many more. Once I work with a family, I stay with them for many years. This is a long-term relationship! Jasmim arrived a few minutes early and provided excellent care for our 1 year old son. She is mature and responsible yet playful and engaging with him. I really appreciated the periodic updates she would text to let me know things were going well. We would not hesitate to have her watch our son again and are happy to have found her.

We hired Jasmim to watch two toddlers during a wedding reception we attended. She was punctual, great with the kids, and very professional. We appreciated her level of experience with babysitting and were impressed that she was arguably more on top of things than we were and asked all the right questions about getting the kids set up before we left (things were chaotic as we were still getting ready for the wedding). Jasmim got the kids to bed easily and they had a great time with her. One child even had a moderate head cold and it didn't phase her at all. Thanks so much, Jasmim. If we are ever in the DC area again and need a sitter, you will be at the top of our list!

Jasmim is a wonderful, trustworthy, and reliable childcare provider! I have a 19 month old and a 4 month old and she was excellent with both and they really liked her as well! My husband and I were very impressed and definitely plan to ask her to come back for future babysitting jobs!

Jaz was great. She took care of our 11 month old for 3 nights when we visited the city. Our daughter was in great hands during that time, and we'd be happy to have Jaz take care of her again should we find ourselves in DC.

Jasmim is mature, responsible--and wonderful with our kids. They adore her, as do we. We feel very fortunate to have found her on Sittercity. We have used her for a couple of years now; she is unfailingly reliable, and engaging to parents and kids. She is artistic and creative--traits that she does not highlight in her profile, but of which I've seen ample evidence.
