I am a Masters candidate in Child Development at Tufts University and will finish my degree in May 2015. I chose the program at Tufts because of its child-centered perspective and my career interests in working with children and families. Prior to grad school I worked as a nanny for over a decade, which lead me to my current program. I enjoy babysitting and am interested in summer nanny opportunities. I started taking care of kids as an older “friend”/mother’s helper when I was around 10, and progressed to full-on babysitting a couple of years later. In addition to babysitting, I have also tutored (both students looking to go beyond standard curriculum and also those for whom academics are challenging), worked as an overnight camp counselor, taught/created programming at an out-of-school program, worked in the children’s room at a public library, and interned at an afterschool program with children who Read more are at-risk. I am experienced with newborns through early teenagers. I also have experience with twins. I am open to (and experienced with) travel and overnight care. Boston is a fantastic place for kids and families, with lots of great places to visit and special events, so for a summer opportunity, I would strongly prefer to work with a family that shares my enthusiasm for exposing their child(ren) to the great things the area has to offer. At home, I particularly enjoy arts and crafts, building toys, and baking. Reading and getting outside are daily parts of life for my charges and me. Regardless of our physical location, it is my constant goal to engage, educate, and empower your child.
