I have worked as a nanny for over 20 years. I have cared for children from 2-months to 14-years-old. My positions since 2000: From 2000 through 2002 I worked with 2 children (5 and 7 years-old when I started); from late 2002 through mid 2003 I worked with 3 children (6-month old twins and their 3 year-old sister) with mother's help until the children were old enough for mom to handle all 3 on her own; from mid 2003 through late 2008 I cared for a very special girl starting when she was 2.5 months-old and for her brother when he was born in late 2006. Then I cared for a 6-month old little one for 6 months at which time her parents moved out of the state. Then the 2009-2010 school year for 2 boys (3 and 6-years old). Currendly I care for a delightful 9-year-old boy, 3 days a week. Read more I started at the beginning of the school year in 2010 and still care for him today. It has been 4+ years now. My Schooling: I have a BA in Social Psychology and Women Studies, a MEd in Counseling Psychology and I am currently taking a break from a doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. As part of my doctoral and master's programs I have participated in several practicum/internships where I have worked as a therapist with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. What I am seeking: I am looking for a part-time nanny/babysitting position (for 1 to 3 days a week for a total of 10 hours). This new care position needs to work around my current position which in after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. About me: I am artsy/crafty - I paint and sew (wearable art), selling my wearable art on Etsy.com. I am caring, fun, responsible, and looking for new children to love and care for. I love taking children to lakes, beaches, pools, parks, zoos, playgrounds, and other outside activities. I enjoy trips to the aquarium, children's museums, libraries and the science museum. I believe being social and out exploring the world is important in the development of well grounded children. I welcome playdates: the more kids the merrier, and a way to explore how to relate to and create lasting connections with others, as well as being very fun for all. I enjoy books and games of all sorts, as well as a great deal of other activities. I also volunteer at a local Animal Rescue Group and have done so for the last 3 years.
