I have just received my Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature from The University of Chicago (June 05). I have approximately four years of experience working with children between the ages of 4 and 11. The last four years I worked for the Neighborhood Schools Program at The University of Chicago as a teaching assistant to the French teacher at Murray Language Academy, a small magnet school in the South Side. The children I worked with at Murray ranged from KG to 6th grade. The past three summers I was interned as a teaching assistant at the Leapfrog summer program with the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University. There I worked with many children ranging from Pre-K to 4th grade, and taught subjects ranging from math and science to reading and writing. For three years I was the primary childcare provider for a family in the Chicago Read more metropolitan area. This family found me on sittercity.com, and I babysat their now 11 year old daughter just about everyday the last two years. Now her mother is off work and watches her, but we are still very good friends and we keep intouch and visit eachother. I am currently a graduate student at Teachers College Columbia University. I am enrolled in the Master of Arts in the Teaching of English Program, and will become certified for grades 7-12 in the state of New York, and Illinois.
